Guest Country

With the aim of enhancing its international dimension, the event annually invites a Guest Country to present its cultural offering through a selection of artists representative of the modern and contemporary art scene.

During the fifth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola, the Republic of Korea took center stage with the exhibition Fever State, presented within the framework of the Korea–Italy Cultural Exchange Year 2024–2025, promoted to celebrate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Asian country and Italy.

In 2024, Portugal was the guest country, presenting a selection of works from the State Contemporary Art Collection in the exhibition Uma Volta ao Sol (A Turn Around the Sun), organized by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of Portugal in Rome, and curated by Sandra Vieira Jürgens.

In 2023, the Embassy of Australia presented the exhibition Threads and Lands, a dynamic collection of traditional and contemporary Australian Aboriginal art.

The previous year, in 2022, Ukraine presented the project Si Vis Pacem, curated by Yevhen Bereznitsky, director of the Bereznitsky Art Foundation, focusing on Ukrainian art from the second half of the twentieth century, the production of independent Ukraine, and works created in direct response to the Russian military aggression.

Finally, in the first edition (2021), the exhibition Israel Landscape was presented, aiming to portray the many facets of contemporary Israeli reality through the works of seventeen artists.
