The beating heart of this vision is expressed through a programme of , a project-based dimension that transforms the fair into an open laboratory for experimentation. This programme does not merely frame the exhibition but ambitiously aims to foster dialogue among heterogeneous artistic languages, engaging both established masters and the most daring voices of the emerging scene.

The integration of these performative actions plays a decisive role in enhancing and diversifying the artistic and cultural offering of the event, providing visitors with an immersive experience that goes beyond the simple viewing of static artworks. The necklace stands out against the black dress — the color of mourning in Italy — worn by the performer, who sings a cappella a song by Jeff Buckley, “Grace,” perhaps a premonition of the artist’s own drowning in the muddy waters of a Mississippi tributary. The singing grows increasingly intense and heartfelt until tears fall: a liquefaction of our emotions that connects us to the world. In this mysterious overflow, water molecules emerge — their residence time varying: 3,200 years in the ocean, 9 days in the atmosphere, 10,000 years in aquifers, and 10 days in the human body. Tears have known the sea — a sea they will soon return to. Her practice spans sculpture, installation, scenography, performance, and publishing. Her research investigates what is ephemeral and immaterial: imagination, simulacrum, and belief. At the center of her work are objects and relics that define human identity, whose value is determined by the meanings we attribute to them.

Saturday, November 22, 3:30 PM

Try by Marilisa Cosello

Try refers to the attempt, the trial, the aesthetic ambition inscribed in the athletic gesture — a project about the mythology of the body and decontextualization as a critical device.
For the performance hosted at Roma Arte in Nuvola, this set of meanings undergoes a radical reduction. Space and context are eliminated. Two boxers remain. The question is no longer where the body acts, but how the body produces thought. When you remove the background, what remains is the body as pure language — no mediation, no frame.
The boxing gesture becomes the only available sign system: attack–defense–dodge–strike. Boxing articulates a relational syntax based on distance, time, and the anticipatory reading of the other’s body. The boxers cease to be objects of vision and become subjects producing corporeal knowledge — generating understanding for themselves, between them, through simultaneous, non-linear, relational logics. The performance becomes a space to test whether the body can stand on its own as a self-sufficient system of thought, without the need for translation.
Curated by Adriana Polveroni

Marilisa Cosello (Salerno, 1978) lives and works in Milan. She uses photography, video, performance, and installation to explore the body as a narrative and symbolic tool. The performers, dressed in black, carry golden buoys on their shoulders — small sculptures, nautical objects used as navigational tools. The light ropes, stretched and intertwined toward a central bollard, create suspended geometries that change with the movement of the bodies, transforming the space into a dynamic web of lines.
The invisible boundary becomes a metaphor for the relationship between the individual and the community: a signal, a reference point, and at the same time, a constraint.
LANDFALL is therefore a drawing of lines, bodies, and sound in continuous motion. The word itself means “landing” and contains both the fall (“fall”) and the arrival, the land (“land”), suggesting a tension between control and surrender. In a historical moment like this, it is necessary to redesign ports, to include and welcome “others,” to transform obstacles into maneuvers of possibility — where bodies become mobile borders: political bodies.
Curated by Adriana Polveroni

Sonia Andresano (Salerno, 1983) lives and works between Rome and Milan. Her works, often rooted in evolving personal experiences, explore memory, domestic and inhabited spaces, physical or symbolic transitions between places, and the tension between stillness and movement.

Every day

Referendum (2023–2024) by Giorgia Errera

Voting booths, counting table, ballot papers, copying pencils, ballot box
“Referendum” is a participatory installation by artist Giorgia Errera (Anzio, 1997) that unfolds over three days: two devoted to voting and one to the counting of ballots. Visitors are invited to enter a voting booth, fill out a ballot with no question by choosing between “yes” and “no,” and place it inside a ballot box. The action continues on the third day with the count, during which the ballots—devoid of any apparent meaning—are tallied and arranged on the table in separate stacks, to be later used in a future installation.
The action stages the ritual of voting as a collective gesture emptied of meaning, questioning the boundary between real democracy and its representation. The absence of a question on the ballot reflects a form of illusory democracy in which voting—an emblem of popular participation par excellence—becomes a pure form without function, a participation reduced to a mere formal gesture devoid of any concrete impact.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”80px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”” css=”.vc_custom_1666022524086{padding-top: 60px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] Performance [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_column_text css=””]Fully consistent with its identity and its distinctly interdisciplinary approach, Roma Arte in Nuvola confirms itself as a cultural ecosystem in constant evolution.
