The Special Performance Program Returns to Roma Arte in Nuvola 2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The special project dedicated to performance art<\/strong> returns to Roma Arte in Nuvola 2024<\/strong>, curated by Daniela Cotimbo<\/strong> and Adriana Polveroni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The program featured four powerful performances<\/strong>, exploring themes related to social relationships, feminism, ecology, urban memory, and the revival of subcultures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Performances<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Francesco Fonassi \u2013 Dream Klub Remix<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe program opened with Francesco Fonassi<\/strong>, an artist from Brescia, who transformed La Nuvola with a live tape collage<\/strong>, the result of his residency in Belgrade<\/strong>, where he set up a temporary radio and music production studio<\/strong> in the former Akademija club<\/strong>\u2014a legendary venue in the international underground music scene<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Iginio De Luca \u2013 Tevere Expo, scarti sonori<\/em><\/strong>
\nOver the following two days, Iginio De Luca<\/strong> presented Tevere Expo, scarti sonori<\/strong>, an audio-poetic intervention<\/strong> that aimed to reveal the unseen and forgotten<\/strong>. Throughout the fair, De Luca extracted sounds from debris recovered from the Tiber River<\/strong>\u2014urban relics that had resurfaced from the depths, remnants of long-forgotten industrial products.<\/p>\n

LU.PA \u2013 D’altro canto cade<\/em><\/strong>
\nOn Saturday, November 23<\/strong>, the stage belonged to LU.PA<\/strong>, an artistic duo founded by Lul\u00f9 Nuti and Pamela Pintus<\/strong>. Their performance, D’altro canto cade<\/strong>, featured five opera singers performing reinterpretations of folk songs<\/strong>, with the fate of each piece determined by the flip of a coin<\/strong>, creating a pure moment of chance and unpredictability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Francesca Cornacchini \u2013 Blue Horizon<\/em><\/strong>
\nClosing the series on Sunday, November 24<\/strong>, Francesca Cornacchini<\/strong> presented Blue Horizon<\/strong>, continuing her research into subversive gestures<\/strong> as an aesthetic language<\/strong>. Her performance, centered on repeatedly kicking a wall<\/strong>, transformed a feeling of dissatisfaction with contemporary conditions<\/strong> into a formal and pictorial expression<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Final Talks<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The day concluded with two discussions at 4:00 PM<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  • A talk by art historian and researcher Caterina Tomeo<\/strong>, focusing on sound and voice in contemporary art<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    • LU.PA<\/strong> \u2013 Founded in Cosenza in 2017<\/strong> by Lul\u00f9 Nuti and Pamela Pintus<\/strong>, LU.PA explores the relationship with the \u201cother\u201d through performative action<\/strong>, investigating the dynamics, languages, and systems of contemporary society<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Francesca Cornacchini<\/strong> (1991, Rome<\/strong>) \u2013 A multimedia artist<\/strong> whose work is shaped by Romanticism, heroism, underground culture, and technological revolution<\/strong>.
